It's mid-August and it would seem that summer has finally arrived in west-central Ohio. After a July with highs in the 60's and 70's, it's nice to have some warm weather! At long last, our tomatoes are beginning to ripen, the bell peppers are bright green and big as your fist and the summer apples are sweet and juicy. August is usually a dry, brown month here at the Orchard, but this year, with July's cool weather and downpours, the colors are brilliant and beautiful. Hope you're taking a chance to enjoy summer's last great "hurrah"!
While Huck's Orchard is known for it's apples, we also offer a bounty of summer veggies, fresh-picked, right from the garden. We grow the best, most delicious tomatoes; the kind that you won't find at the big box stores. There are ripe Jetstars by the bushels, and in a couple short weeks, old-timey, heirloom tomatoes that you won't find anywhere but Huck's: varieties such as Great White, Long Season Peach, Lemon Boy, Cherokee Purple, White Currant, just to name a few.
Why don't you drop on by and see why Huck's is 'Favored for Flavor'!
